JLPT N5 - Grammar ๐ŸŒŸ ใซใ™ใ‚‹ ni suru

Have you ever had a moment when you had to make a choice like picking a drink, deciding dinner, or choosing today’s plan…and thought,
“Ahh! How do I say this in Japanese?”

That’s when ใซใ™ใ‚‹ (ni suru) becomes your best friend!

ใซใ™ใ‚‹ means “to choose,” “to decide on,” or “to make something into a certain state.”
And guess what? You already make these kinds of decisions every day, choosing coffee, deciding your schedule, or even making your room clean (well… at least sometimes).

You’ll hear it everywhere, when you’re choosing food, deciding plans, setting times, or changing something on purpose.
It’s one of the most practical and super useful grammar patterns at the N5 level!

So!
Are you ready to start making decisions in Japanese like a natural speaker?
Let’s dive into ใซใ™ใ‚‹ and level up your everyday nihongo!

ใซใชใ‚‹ (ni naru) vs ใซใ™ใ‚‹ (ni suru)
These two expressions look similar, but they describe very different types of change.
Understanding the contrast will help you sound much more natural in Japanese!

ใซใชใ‚‹ (ni naru) - To become, to turn into (natural or automatic change)
This expression describes a change that happens naturally or as a result of circumstances.
No one is intentionally deciding it.

This expression shows an active choice made by a person.
You use it when you decide or choose something intentionally.
