JLPT N5 - Grammar ๐ŸŒŸ ใ ใ‚ใ† darou

Japanese auxiliary โ€œใ ใ‚ใ†โ€ (darou) labeled N5 on a blue background, used to express probability or assumption (โ€œprobably,โ€ โ€œI guessโ€) or to seek confirmation in a casual way.

Have you ever looked at the sky, seen dark clouds, and thought, "Hmm, it's probably going to rain"? Or maybe you’ve cooked a masterpiece and wanted to nudge your friend with a "It’s delicious, right?"

That’s exactly where ใ ใ‚ใ† (darou) comes in!

It’s a super handy N5 expression used to make guesses or to seek a little bit of agreement from others. Think of it as your go-to word for "probably" or a casual "right?".
Sometimes we aren't 100% sure about something, and that's okay! ใ ใ‚ใ† helps you express that uncertainty with style.

Both mean "probably" or "right?", but they change based on who you are talking to!

ใงใ—ใ‚‡ใ† (deshou)
This is more polite and versatile. It is the best choice for talking to teachers, strangers, or in professional settings like weather forecasts. It sounds softer and more considerate.
