JLPT N3 - Grammar ๐ ใใกใซ uchi ni
You know those moments when you think,
“I should’ve gone shopping while it was still sunny!”
Or maybe,
“I wish I had started studying Japanese while I was still a student…”
In Japanese, there’s a perfect phrase for expressing these “while you can” moments, ใใกใซ (uchi ni).
It means “while” or “before something changes.”
You can use it to talk about things you wish you had done, or things you should do now, before the situation changes.
For example:
“Eat it while it’s still warm!”
or
“Let’s go out while it’s nice and sunny!”
ใใกใซ helps you describe those fleeting moments in life, when time, weather, or even feelings might change soon.
So let’s learn how to use ใใกใซ naturally, and make the most of every moment, before it slips away! Let’s go!

ใจใ (toki) vs ใใใ ใซ (aida ni) vs ใใกใซ(uchi ni)
All three expressions relate to “when / while / during”, but the feeling and focus are different.
ใจใ is the most neutral, it simply shows when something happens.
It’s about time in general.
