JLPT N3 - Grammar ๐ ใตใใใใ furi wo suru
Have you ever seen someone you wanted to avoid on the street and suddenly become very interested in a random pebble on the ground?
Or maybe you’ve scrolled through your phone without actually looking at anything, just to look busy?
We’ve all been there, right?
In Japanese, when you want to say “to pretend” or “to act as if something is true (even when it’s not)”, we use the super handy expression ใตใใใใ (furi wo suru).
That’s perfect for those everyday “oops… I’m acting” moments.
Whether you’re pretending to be asleep when your alarm goes off, or pretending to understand a difficult explanation, this expression comes up all the time.
Let’s learn how to master the art of “pretending” in Japanese naturally and confidently!
