JLPT N2 - Grammar ๐ ใใใใใจ sou suru to
Have you ever been explaining something step by step and wanted to say,
“And then, as a result…” or “If we do that, then…”?
Maybe you’re giving directions, explaining a process, or reacting logically to what someone just said.
You need a smooth way to connect what happened first to the result that naturally follows.
That’s exactly where ใใใใใจ (sou suru to) comes in.
ใใใใใจ is an N2 conjunction used to show a logical result or conclusion.
It helps you say, “If that happens,” “Once we do that,” or “Based on that information, this is the result.”
Whether you’re explaining a routine, predicting an outcome, or reacting logically in a conversation, ใใใใใจ makes your Japanese sound clear, organized, and smart.
Let’s take a look at how it works!

ใใใใ (sorekara) vs ใใใใใจ (sou suruto)
Both expressions can be translated as “and then,” but they are used differently.
ใใใใ (sorekara)
ใใใใ is used to show a simple sequence of events.
It just means “after that” and does not show cause and effect.

ใใใใใจ (sou suruto)
ใใใใใจ emphasizes a logical result or conclusion.
Sentence 2 happens naturally because of sentence 1, or is a conclusion based on new information.
