に向けて (にむけて / ni mukete) vs に向かって (にむかって / ni mukatte)
Both expressions can be translated as “toward,” but their focus is slightly different.

に向けて(にむけて / ni mukete) 
Focuses on purpose or goal.
It’s used when preparing, planning, or taking action for something in the future.

試験に向けて勉強している。
しけん に むけて べんきょう している。
shiken ni mukete benkyou shiteiru.
Studying for the exam.

に向かって(にむかって / ni mukatte)
Focuses on direction or facing.
It emphasizes where or whom something is directed toward, physically or emotionally.

先生に向かって話す。
せんせい に むかって はなす。
sensei ni mukatte hanasu.
To speak toward the teacher.

選手はゴールに向かって全速力で走った。
