JLPT N1 - Grammar ๐ ใชใใใฆใฏ nakushiteha
There are some things in life we simply can’t do without, right?
Like... coffee on Monday mornings, or Wi-Fi when you’re traveling!
In Japanese, when you want to express that something is absolutely necessary in order to achieve or maintain something else, you can use ใชใใใฆใฏ (nakushite ha).
It’s an N1 grammar point used to emphasize that without X, Y cannot happen.
This structure often appears in formal speech, writing, and motivational contexts, like speeches, essays, or even emotional quotes.
Let’s explore how to use ใชใใใฆใฏ to sound natural, confident, and even a little philosophical in Japanese!

ใชใใใฐ (nakereba) , ใชใใจ(naito)
These are more casual and common ways to say “if not / without doing.”
They simply show condition, without the strong essential requirement nuance of ใชใใใฆใฏ.

ใชใใงใฏ (nashi deha)
This is closer in meaning to ใชใใใฆใฏ, but slightly less formal and more neutral.
You’ll hear it in both spoken and written Japanese.
